Overview

Thank you for shopping with These Little Hives. We want you to be happy with your purchase. Because our products include candles and edible goods (honey), different return rules apply depending on the product type. Please read the policy below for information on eligibility, timeframes and how to request a return or refund.

1. Eligibility for Returns

Candles

We accept returns for candles within 14 days of delivery if the item is:

  • Unused
  • Unlit
  • Returned in the original, undamaged packaging

Honey & Edible Items

For safety and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns or change-of-mind returns for honey or any opened/consumable products. Honey is classed as a food item and is exempt from the standard consumer right-to-cancel for perishable/food products.

2. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or you receive an incorrect item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@theselittlehives.co.uk with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the damaged/incorrect item and packaging

We will assess the issue and offer a replacement or a full refund where appropriate. In the case of an incorrect item, we will arrange and cover any required return shipping.

3. Change of Mind Returns

Candles: Customers have the legal right to cancel/return unused candles within 14 days of receiving the goods. Returned candles must be unused, unlit and in original, resaleable condition. Return postage costs for change-of-mind returns are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Honey/Edible Items: Change-of-mind returns are not accepted for honey or other consumables due to hygiene and safety rules. Please check product descriptions carefully before ordering.

4. How to Return an Item

  1. Email us at info@theselittlehives.co.uk with your order number and reason for return.
  2. Wait for our return authorisation and the correct return address/instructions.
  3. Pack the item securely and send it back within 14 days (where applicable).

Do not send returns without authorisation — we cannot be responsible for lost or unauthorised returns.

5. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days (processing times may vary by bank).

6. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges at this time. If you need a different item, please return the original (if eligible) and place a new order.

8. Privacy & Safety

We handle all returned items in accordance with our privacy policy. Returned food items will be inspected and handled following safety procedures; we will not resell returned consumables that have been opened or those that fail inspection.
